Underwater Camera Housing
Underwater camera housing is a waterproof camera case used to protect a camera or digital cameras while underwater. Underwater housing is typically made of clear plastic or glass so that the user can see the camera screen, macro lens and controls while taking pictures. The underwater housings may also have a built-in flash or external strobe light attachment to help improve visibility underwater and allow full control of the camera.
There are many different types and sizes of underwater camera housings available on the market, so it is important to choose one that is compatible with your specific camera model. Some housings are only meant for use with certain types of cameras, while others are more universal and can be used with a variety of different camera models, there is also a surf housing for diving.
When choosing an underwater camera housing, aside from your budget and specs, it is important to consider the depth rating, which is the maximum depth that the housing can safely be used at. Most housings have a depth rating of 30 meters (100 feet), but there are some that are rated for depths up to 60 meters (200 feet). It is also important to choose a housing that is comfortable to use with wide angle lenses and easy to operate.
Underwater camera housings have become increasingly popular because aside from being part of accessories it can be used for a variety of different activities, such as snorkelling, diving, swimming, and surfing. They are also commonly used to take pictures of fish and other marine life. No matter what you use your housing for, it is important to practise using it in a pool or other controlled environment before taking it out into the open water.
